Holiday Tournament/Party & 2014 CW Recap!

So as you all know, CW had a Holiday Tournament and Christmas Party- the day was very cold and full of fun and well you guessed it...FISHING! We had 8 Anglers participate and boy were they champs! Such good sports, I really had thought it would be great start the tournament bright and early at 6am, yet I didn't think hard about the fact that it's winter and super dark- so thankfully everyone patiently sat around the fire and altered the event time to 7am start without a fuss! Thanks guys! Not only was there that big mistake, we also had lots of confusion from the scoring system...due to me again, yep- this holiday season obviously has made me lose my mind.  Seriously shame on me, anyhow we worked through it- had we done our usual point ranking...David Jacques would have taken it for the win. However Jason Bisdorf  took it with 17' Bass- we did longest measured bass took the win! :) Either way everyone had a wonderful time and enjoy lots of good food, and a fun white elephant gift exchange, all in all the day was very successful- we can't thank Ya'll enough for coming out and supporting Cactus Wren Outdoors!!

So lets see here, as you know CW is new to the tournament community- and it's our goal to bring a legitimate kayak tournament circuit going in Arizona- within 2015 and 2016 we want to get everything going and legit to everyone's standards. ALL FEEDBACK is very appreciated!! We are thinking about doing a tournament every months for the whole year, and it different locations each month? Thoughts? Also- we were going to raise the buy in prices and pay out more as well as do a point ranking system for the end of the year awards..? What's your input? We look forward to putting these events on, we meet a lot of great anglers who turn into great friends! :) Thank you for giving us the opportunity to do so. Lastly, Thank you for being patient with our first year of hosting tournaments, we may have had some hiccups but we are proud of how far we have come.! We look forward to a brand new year with more great events and products to share with the Arizona fishing community.

Well its that time of year again, things coming to an end as we prepare for the new year with excitement! How does time go by so quick!? Ya know- when your in the present it can easily seem as nothing has changed. Yet, when you look back on the year, everything has changed! We have many things to be forever grateful and thankful for this year. Mostly, all of our amazing Wren Anglers we've met throughout the year- Thank you all SO much for fishing with Cactus Wren Outdoors! It means the world to us, we are living a dream creating lures and fishing gear that brings joy to all and many fish to the boat or kayak. Hey Everyone!

So it's been a while, and it's time to catch you up. Things have gotten so crazy, and amazing all at the same time. Cactus Wren has had a few great fishing events, and the holidays are here filling all of us full of cheer! : ) Has anyone been fishing lately? Any stories to brag about? Winter has finally seemed to come out in a full bang- it's been so cold lately for Mesa Arizona. As we all are familiar the Bass are going real deep for winter. It seems it's been tough to get on a bite as these fish are moving slower and deep. What's everyone fishing? The Wren's winter go to are usually always... Drop shot, some gold or silver spoons, maybe event a Carolina rig with some CW Ridgwalkers or some CW Roadrunners; which are some of our newest baits.. Anyways, let's focus on the subject here- let's catch you up. Since our last blog- we had put on our very 1st Cactus Wren Fishing Friendly Tournament at Canyon Lake in September, what a great turn out that was! After that, we hosted our next event at Saguaro Lake, Butcher Jones in October and again another great event, Thanks to everyone who came! Then we gotwww.heroesonthewater.com All in all we have had a blessed and busy last few months since we've talked to Ya'll! We are SO thankful for everyone who has came out or continues to support Cactus Wren Outdoors. :)
