If you aren't already signed up, DON'T MISS OUT. We hope to see all of you Wren Anglers out there! Also, we have a NEW Release going to be coming out October 31st! We can't dish too much information, but it's going to be our best release yet! So stay tuned, and follow along.

Let's get to it, for us fishing is a lifestyle- which we love to live for. We have gone for a change up; we've been faithfully fishing Saguaro Lake more often lately. It's a breathtaking lake, with lots of great fishing. It seems with the summer finally drawing to an end, the morning bite is starting to turn up the heat. At least we have experienced this lately, luckily. Labor Day weekend, we hit the lake and enjoyed ourselves very much. Justin and I probably got on the water about 6:30am, and starting getting on fish around 7:15am. We consistently caught Largemouth bass from shallow wall structure and flats that eventually dropped off to about 60 foot of water. It seems they were swimming from the flats down, possibly chasing bait fish. It was about 7:30ish when Justin reeled in the first catch, a decent Bass about 2.5lbs, it always makes me the happiest when I see Justin catching fish with our lures. His smile lights up my entire heart, and that in a fishing trip makes everything worthwhile. :) After that, Justin caught a few more bass that were dinks and then all of the sudden "BAM" My man yells "FISH ON BABY!" So here goes the drill, I frantically grab the net and try to get that bass in quick before it slips away. It's always nerve racking for any net man, because if you lose that fisherman's catch- it surely spoils his excitement! So there we are, Justin's Kumara is stripping line, and bent over all the way- we immediately knew this was a toad! Justin fights and a fight, the fish is feisty son of gun. "Splash" are all we hear and then we see this giant large-mouth looking to be a for sure 10lbs jumping from the water! Oh what a sight that is, I wish I could have got it on video! Finally the fish get close enough to the boat, and I net the fish! "WHAMMMY and YES YES YES!" Justin cheers! There we have it; Justin's caught a beautiful fat large mouth. All in all, we snapped a lot of photos- weighed the girl, which came out to 8lbs.  I congratulated my amazing husband, and couldn't have been more proud of his angling skills. It's not easy to catch such a big large mouth, it's actually quite difficult. Some people spend years going after that hog, and luckily Justin retrieved that beauty and couldn't have been more thankful! We were so excited, it's clear Wren Lures always deliver "The Reaction You've Been Waiting For!" After Justin's hog, we managed to pull a few more fish to the boat, the both of us. Enjoyed the beautiful stemming summer air, and fished our hearts out. All the fish we catch, we release back into the water.

We strive on taking good care of the fish we catch and preach for all to put bass back into the lake. This way they can grow bigger, and be another catch of the lifetime for other Arizona Anglers. We also like to pick up waste any time around the lakes and rivers of Arizona. It's important to preserve nature and help the environment grow and evolve for future generations to come, please help us and don't trash Arizona!
Can you tell us about any fishing trophies you've caught this summer? Any Wren Catches? We love to hear from you, always feel free to contact us at gethooked@cactuswrenoutdoors.com or if you see us around town, or on the water- be sure to say hi! Thank you for fishing with Cactus Wren Outdoors, and following along our adventures! It means the world to us, until next time Wren Anglers!.....

Full Moon Fishing at Canyon Lake

Hey Everybody!

How's everyone fishing, any trophies to tell us about? Well we've been wishing and hoping for that big ole bass to strike our lure! I can just feel it lately; I know that it's just a matter of time before I can reel in my personal best, at least hoping so. My Husband Justin has got his personal best on the wall and it's beautiful. He's been telling me all year, if I can bring in a bass 5lbs or larger, he'll mount it for me. HOW COOL, Right? My personal best Large-mouth Bass is about 4.5lbs, and I'm so close! So, it's been on and we're hard at work every day we possibly can hit the water!

As everyone knows we LOVE fishing Canyon Lake in Arizona; it's a tough lake to fish but always rewarding with a great catch! In other words, we like to call it the Land of the Lurkers. So Last, weekend Friday August 8 - 10th was an incredible full moon, and we fished the lake as long as possible. Friday we kayaked fished all around Boulder and the lake marina. It was a memorable night, the moon was so bright the water and mountains were all lite up. It seemed the fish were feeding heavily; they were literally jumping out of the water and flipping back in. It's no kidding a Full Moon does wonders to things. :) It was an incredible site! Justin and I did fairly well that night, Justin caught about 4 Large Mouth, and I caught my best in a night 6 Largemouth Bass!! Can you believe that? I couldn't, actually every-time I seem to catch a fish it never seizes to amaze me. It's those little joys of surprise that I love living for!

It's been tough on the water with monsoon weathers on and off; it constantly seems to change the fishing pattern. But we seem to manage and enjoy ourselves either way! The waters seem to be real busy lately; it's awesome to see so many anglers out there. For us, we are thinking everyone is trying to get those last great trophies of summer fishing. Just before winter sweeps through and fish go deep for an even more challenging catch.

Cactus Wren Outdoors is currently working on some awesome bait to be released real soon! As you can see in our photos below, they are so producing fish and decent ones at that. We are incredibly excited for you to try fishing them and discovering "The Reaction You've Been Waiting For!"
Thank you for following along, tell us your favorite summer fishing experiences! We love hearing feedback!  Until next time, fish on friends!
